When should I clean my chimney?
Dublin City Council, The National Safety Council and local fire services all recommend that chimneys be swept thoroughly at least twice a year for coal, wood or turf burning fires.
One of these cleanings should be in the middle of the high-use period (i.e. late winter/early spring). The other should be at the end of Autumn to make sure the chimney is free of leaves and other debris.
